    « Orthodontiste » ou « orthodentiste » ?

    La règle

    On écrit orthodontiste avec -dont-, du grec *odous, odontos* (dent). Le préfixe *ortho-* signifie « droit » et *-odonte* se rapporte aux dents. La forme « orthodentiste » est une contamination par le mot français « dent », mais l'étymologie grecque impose -odont-.
